This month, we will welcome Justin Bates, Program Manager at Abode Energy Management, to review current and upcoming building electrification initiatives and discuss contractor training and project matching needs. Abode is a BEA Industry Partner.
Justin will start with a quick overview of current initiatives including the New England Heat Pump Accelerator, proposed Mass Save program updates related to building electrification, the Decarbonization Pathways program, and new concierge services from the Massachusetts Community Climate Bank. After this overview, we will discuss 1) challenges your community members face in identifying and choosing contractors to receive proposals from, difficulties community members face when communicating with installers, and obstacles community members have in understanding and evaluating proposals, and 2) information that would be useful for community members to have on hand when identifying and choosing contractors.
This will be an active working meeting so please come ready to share your ideas for improving local contractor networks and coaching program support.
